Scuba and Snorkelling
Not an activity which we had time to try but we did see the excellent set up for scuba and snorkelling. L’Estartit in particular is geared to cater for divers of all standards. The streets have a lot of specialist shops and booking centres for courses, dive boats and gear hire. The Estacio Nautica runs a very high standard dive school with instructors who are at the top of the training scales.
The newcomer is very welcome and courses are available for students with no experience or certificates. The centre operates 2 day open water courses for beginners and also offers more advanced open water coures including first aid, rescue, cave diving and underwater orientation and navigation. For the advanced student the centre can take you through the training to achieve professional standard, divemaster and divemaster/instructor levels.
The dive areas used by the L’Estartit Estacio Nautica are only a 20 minute boat ride from the harbour and the choice of locations ranges from the wonderful world around the Medes islands to wrecks and caves along the Montgri coastline.
Post dive activities are available and these should include the food that the local restaurants produce.
Santa Susanna Estacio Nautica also do a small amount of scuba training and their introduction course is a two hour session and costs 45€ inclusive of your gear hire.
