The Barigo Model 44 is an altimeter with integrated compass and with a full weatherstation, air pressure reading, barchart for pressure changes and weather forecast with symbols. In addition the instrument shows an altitude profile and allows the user to store the maximum/minimum heights as well as total ascent. The device incorporates a clock with stop watch function. The large display is very useful as is the backlight.
The chip and software that provide and record the various sets of data do so with great accuracy and the design of placing the information into a large case gives the user a huge display of the different information modes. This is reflected in the Model 44's price which is still pretty good for a device of this quality.
The neck strap is comfortable next to the skin but it is unlikely that you will be without clothing at some of the altitudes the Barigo Model 44 is designed to go to. If you need a unit that you can read accurately even in poor conditions and that can be worn outside your layers of clothing then the Barigo Model 44 is well worth looking at.
