The Barigo Model 16 is a refreshing change from the current crop of modern compasses. A simple but effective sighting design compass made to exacting standards. The deep baseplate will ensure many years of tough use and abuse and the magnificent leather case makes the Model 16 really stand out. Built with the country gentleman in mind this item will find many fans amongst the hunting, shooting and fishing set as well as those who just like to use equipment that just oozes quality. I love it!

The leather case is a real beauty, hand stiched to avery high standard and embossed with a direction arrow. A window is also cut into the case to allow the user to read the compass needle even with case closed. When you pop the brass stud which keeps the lid in place the lid reveals a sighting mirror which allows direct bearings to be read from navigation targets. The compass actually angles up slightly to make the use of the sighting facility easier. The pale yellow lining to the bottom of the leather case is actually a highly effective luminous plastic insert which makes reading the compass in low light levels or complete darkness easy. In spite of the absence of any scales or romer scales on the baseplate the compass is a very capable instrument and can be relied upon to provide accurate navigation. If you can't stretch to the price for the leather cased version Barigo also supply the robust compass as a solo unit. It is refered to as the Model 15 and retails for £29.50.
