Barmouth

The race begins and 15 teams take on the daunting task of
sailing to Caernarfon, Whitehaven and Fort William taking
in the three highest mountains in Wales, England and Scotland.
Hannah, the Royal Marines entry made an excellent with the
other Reflex Clipper, Lightning Reflex right on her tail.

Estrelita is following
the fleet although she is not taking part in the
race. she is taking the ashes of Bob Peart to be
scattered on the summits of Snowdon, Scafell and
Ben Nevis. Bob was a great runner and his ashes
are being carried by his fellow team members from
the 1988 race.

ESOX waits for repairs after
her engine failed as she motored to the start line.
The team hope to rejoin the race with the 11.30 tide tonight.
