Barmouth teams battle it out
on the Snowdon

Kit check before the
Snowdon run.
The 3 Barmouth boats look like having
a great battle in the King of the Mountains competition,
all of them being in the top 4 positions on the Snowdon
run.
Fastest on the mountain were Paula Jeffs and Dave Whittey
on Red Dragon 2000. Paula works in the Barmouth Leisure
Centre and is the Welsh half marathon champion, and Dave
has twice won the race to the top of Cader Idris so they
are a strong team and will be hard to beat. Both are members
of the Bro Dysynni Athletic Club.
Seven minutes behind them were Brendan Bolland and Richard
Ludlow on Team Reflex, followed by Andy Sanderson and
Keith Allday from Kookabura, a further 5 minutes back.
However, their team is entered in The Tilman Trophy, so
they must now decide whether to remain in that class,
or put the same 2 runners up the other 2 mountains and
compete for the 'King of the Mountains' title.
Fourth were Darren Stanbury and John Collie from Charter
Continuum, and they were subsequently first into Whitehaven,
arriving at 06.24, so they had daylight and a fine, warm
day for their ride and run to Scafell Pike and back.
With Charter Continuum leading the race on the second
leg the Barmouth teams are setting the pace.
