Bye, it's been fun!
Rob Howard, left, and David
Lynch, editor of www.bluedome.co.uk, the web reporting
team, get ready to close the race coverage for the 2000
event. Laptops and digital cameras have played an essential
role in bringing the race to thousands of followers worldwide
and we hope you have enjoyed being part of this great
adventure.
During this years race we followed
the teams from Barmouth to Corpach via Snowdon, Ennerdale,
Wasdale, Scafell, Whitehaven, Croabh Haven, the sound
of Luing, the Corran Narrows and finally to Ben Nevis and
the finish line. Over 2000 images of the race have been
taken so this is not the end of the web site, Rob and
myself will be scanning in the best images for an online
gallery and many of the images will appear in the press.
Plans are already afoot to
make the 25th race in 2001 something special, we just
hope it will be as exciting as this years race. After
400 sea miles and racing up the highest mountains in England
and Wales the race generated a great finish with three
boats arriving in Fort William within 63 minutes of each
other.
See you all next year.
