Simply Red achieved their ambition to win the Tilman Trophy, taking the title in dramatic style on the Ben Nevis run.

When the team arrived at Corpach on the outskirts of Fort William they were in 4th place overall and 2 hours and 9 minutes behind Thunderchild in the Tilman Trophy competition. But their final pair of runners, Ross Cattell and David Mitchell, still felt they were in with a chance and made a strong push on the climb up the mountain.

They gained 90 minutes on Tony Jiggens and Les Crampton from Thunderchild by the time they got to the snow capped summit, but it wasn't until they reached the foot of the mountain that they passed them, taking 3rd place and the coveted Tilman Trophy.

The only consolation for Thunderchild was that they held onto 4th place overall and second in the Tilman Trophy, finishing just one minute ahead of Team Mojo.
