MOUNTAIN EQUIPMENT
All competitors who undertake the mountain sections must have the following items of clothing and equipment with them at all times that they are on land: see Rule Eight. Items that are not being worn must be carried.

EACH PERSON

Long sleeved shirt
Long sleeved pullover, woollen or eqivalent
Trousers or tracksuit bottoms
Waterproof anorak or cagoule, including head covering
Waterproof trousers
Protection for hands
Balaclava
Adequate footwear
Rucksack
Sleeping bag; at least 2lbs in weight

Polythene bag, heavy gauge at least 6x3', either the standard karrimor orange bag or one of equivalent size and weight. (Not available in Barinouth)

Torch with spare batteries and bulb

Emergency rations - chocolate, mint cake, raisons, etc, minimum of 4oz.
First aid equipment to include: - wound dressing (one large), triangular bandages (2)
Whistle
Luminous compass
Pencil and notepaper

Complete Ordnance Survey map provided with the Race Instructions, this may not be cut down.

Note: Other items such as vests, socks, etc, that will be required are not checked.
