Tweed Valley MRT ScotPLOD - Friday 6th & Saturday 7th June
The first ever ScotPLOD will challenge you and your team, on this spectacular endurance walk, to negotiate the 50km route. We have designed a spectacular Tweed Valley route, which will take you through some of the best country the Scottish Border Region has to offer. Negotiating wooded valleys, forest trails and on to the high ground for sunrise, we promise you a tough, beautiful, and unforgettable experience.
The name of the game for the team captains will be to get their team to finish as high up the ranking as possible. Points will be awarded in line with your finishing position and by checking in at designated checkpoints. There will be a few surprises en route with opportunities to build your points total further. All of this will require teamwork, strategy and intelligence.
Once you have crossed the finish line, we will transfer to the fabulous MacDonald Cardrona Hotel where you will be able to get a couple of hours rest before our celebration dinner where the full results will be revealed.

Entry Fee: £25.00 per person, minimum sponsorship - but we'd love you to raise more.
On 9th August 2008 the team will be holding the Oggie 8 challenge; a one day walk taking in the Carneddau and Glyderau including Y Garn and Tryfan - that's eight 3000ft peaks in one day. At over 16 miles the challenge is for experienced walkers who through sponsorship will raise much needed money for the team. We are asking for those interested in a great day's walking to contact us further for details. The challenge is open to teams of 4 to 6 people. But hurry, to minimise environmental impact places are limited. So if you have ever enjoyed a day out in the Snowdonia mountains and fancy giving something back please get involved. You can download the route as a Memory Map file (Requires MMv5), or have a look now using Microsoft Virtual Earth. Get started by downloading a sponsorship form http://ogwen-rescue.org.uk/oggie_8/oggie_8_sponsorship.pdf and entry form http://ogwen-rescue.org.uk/oggie_8/oggie_8.pdf now.
