An exciting opportunity has arisen with Haven Banks Outdoor Education in Exeter. Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre is a pioneering partnership between Devon County Council & Exeter College, Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre provides a contemporary hub for outdoor activities for young people and adults from Exeter, Devon and across the region.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, flexible and well organized individual as a Lead Multi Activity Instructor with specific responsibilities for water-based activities and programmes and associated equipment
The successful applicant will hold a variety of National Governing Body Awards and be able to demonstrate previous experience leading, coaching and mentoring groups and individuals of all ages and abilities and from every background.
The individual we are seeking must be able to work alone as well as part of the team and have passion for delivering outdoor and adventurous activity programs which will inspire and motivate students, enabling them to get the very best results.
Evening and weekend work will also be required to carry out Duty Instructor responsibilities.
Priority will ultimately focus on safe practice, as well as learning, enjoyment, and achievement as part of structured practical programs of activity.
The post will include delivery to all users of the Centre involving:
Approximately 30% centre based admin and preparation time and 70% outdoor instructional delivery work.
* Residential and evening and weekend sessions.
* Working in all weathers conditions throughout the year
* Constantly and continually managing the vagaries of different groups and group members.
