This role is for an outdoor enthusiast who has a flair for leadership and outdoor activities, our main centre is set in the heart of the Hajar mountains in Ras al Khaimah UAE this is an outdoor paradise with our water base on 15mins away. We work with residential international school groups, International award (D of E), corporate groups as well as family & individual groups, we are looking for a dynamic, professional person who is able to adapt to new challenges as they arise with good strong work ethics and work as part of our managerial team.

You will need to have a background in instructing and management role, you may continue to instruct as part of the role occasionally. The overall responsibility will be to run the centre effectively while managing staff and ensure all UK safety standards are adhered to and first-class customer service is delivered from all staff all the time. This is not a full-time office job although you are expected to split your time and manage your own work load to ensure the main centre & second centre runs to the highest standards.

You’ll need to
• Manage, recruit, train and monitor staff along with any support and ground staff
• Proved track record of holding a management position
• Ensure that staff adhere to the UK safety standards and deliver sessions with a professional and enthusiastic manner
• Ensure the strict equipment checks are carried out and followed through
• Assess risk and act upon any issues that arrive at any given time throughout the season
• Provide instruction for specialist area such as Natural Rock Climbing (Not climbing Wall) – Kayaking – High Ropes
• Partake in any course that may be required to keep your skills qualified and up to date
• Assist in planning programs and liaise with sales team to ensure all program written are following the guidelines set by the company operating procedures
• You will be the main contact between the teachers and sales team, ensure expectations of everyone are met or explain why this may not be possible
• Deal with problems, complaints and queries that arise at the centre, discuss when needed with head office
• Check & maintain equipment – liaise with management of any equipment to be replaced or purchased
• Oversee catering & housekeeping duties
• Ensure the up keep of the facilities and camp is upheld and plan any repair or work needed
• Monitor weather patterns and amend program where and when needed
• Assist in generating increased income by looking at way the centre can work more efficiently and promote alternative possible revenue routes
• Be the main contact between centre the sales office with regards the smooth running of the camp

Skills needed
• Outstanding leadership and management skills with a willingness to lead by example
• Group facilitation skills, allowing others with limited range of technical outdoor skills to work with groups
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish a rapport with a range of people
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Ability to stay calm under immense pressure & adapt to the cultural needs of the surrounding area
• Flexibility to meet business and client’s needs
• 2 years managerial experience – essential
• First Aid certificate
• NGB certificates – SPA / L2 BCU min requirements
• Knowledge of International Award (DofE) – advantageous
