Field Base Manager at the Coral Cay Conservation Philippines
Salary: £11,000 per annum on completion of month long handover in country (half pay during handover). Contract – One year starting 6th February 2018 - 6th February 2019. Please note successful candidate will need to undertake preparatory training (detailed below) at the CCC Head office in Surrey before departure. During this time the candidate will need to cover their own lodging and board but will receive a £40 contribution towards their expenses, per full day's training). It is unfortunately not possible for candidates to undertake training remotely.

Summary of job -
This is a 1 year contracted position, starting in February 2018, based in a remote area in the Philippines. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the project and ensuring that all aspects of the expedition are being conducted safely and within Coral Cay standards. This is a unique role, offering the right candidate the opportunity to build on their practical expedition management experience with an award winning NGO.
About us -
CCC is an award-winning organisation which provides resources to help sustain livelihoods and alleviate poverty through the protection, restoration and management of coral reefs and tropical forests. To achieve these aims, CCC recruits teams of paying international volunteers to finance and participate in conservation expeditions world-wide. CCC’s research teams collect baseline information on the current health of the reef and forest. This information is then used to develop management plans for the government to ensure that the area is used in a way which will ensure sustainability and promote conservation.
Candidate Requirements - Essential
• PADI Divemaster (or equivalent)
• Practical management and leadership experience
• Experience of working in remote, challenging areas
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills
• Computer literate
• Proven ability to work within local communities and developing countries
• Proven ability to work well with project staff and volunteers
• Off-Site safety management experience
Candidate Requirements – Desirable
• Good mechanical knowledge
• PADI SCUBA Instructor
• Budgeting and budget management experience
• Remote medical / First aid training
