Candidates must provide at least 2 references and complete our application pack & must be a minimum age of 18 at the start of the course. Some previous experience of a variety of outdoor activities is essential and most importantly an enthusiasm to learn and to work hard in the outdoor industry. Candidates should have a First Aid qualification that will be valid for the entire length of our Training Programme and a passport valid until at least 6 months beyond the end of the programme.

As candidates progress through training and NGB awards they will assist, & lead activity sessions. Candidates that show good instructing ability may have the opportunity to lead more of the activities we offer - a great asset to the CV of any aspiring instructor.

We operate our course on a Volunteer Trainee basis. Your normal fortnight would consist of 3 days training per fortnight, 3 days off per fortnight and the remaining days of each week spent assisting with activities and helping us with developing our centre. This will include helping in the construction of new activities facilities, gardening & landscaping, general labouring, painting, miscellaneous DIY tasks etc.

Some uniform is provided and a kit list will be provided showing the minimum outdoor equipment that a trainee must have.

Trainees will be mentored by our Senior Instructor staff.

On completion of the course candidates will be ready to confidently move on to a career in the outdoors.

Accommodation is shared in large static caravans on a co-ed basis. All meals are provided.
