RYA Senior Instructor with Vanhang Sailing.
Vanhang is a joint venture company established by Vanke and BSC(Beijing Sailing Center) with English background. Vanhang adopts the most advanced training systems and boasts world-class management, with an international view and employing foreign staff from around the world to join one our one of our six Sailing Bases spanning the China coastline includingNingbo, Xiamen Guangzhou, Dameisha, Longcheer and Sanya.
To work as part of Vanhang Sailing Operations team with responsibility for the delivery of high quality instructing to young people and adults in sailing and land based activities. The role is to continue the development of our existing sailing activities putting it at the forefront of the Chinese sailing industry. The role is a hands on approach to deliver our products and courses to a very high standard.
To provide professional Instruction and direction to ensure the wellbeing of instructors and participants at all times whilst ensuring a safe sailing environment, enabling students to learn watersports safely. To lead a team of Instructors (DI), Assistant Instructors (AI) and Volunteers in organizing, delivering and developing our core products while reporting to the Waterfront and Base Managers.
Current Royal Yachting Association member with Senior Dinghy Instructor qualification. Experience of delivering sailing courses. Good communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility to working, including weekends and evenings
Experience of making effective decisions in a busy environment
Experience of leading and motivating staff.
Experience of working in a team.
A good understanding of health and safety guidelines, including an understanding of the RYA safeguarding children’s policy.
Carry out other duties within your ability as requested by your Waterfront or Base Manager. Complete adherence to the Vanhang Sailing Bases Standard Operating Procedures.
You will be required to be flexible in your job role and may be required to move between different bases according to operational needs.
RYA Racing endorsement, RYA Advanced Instructor, RYA Multi Hull endorsement, RYA Windsurfing Instructor, RYA Safety Boat RYA Powerboat Instructor. RYA Dayskipper land based Instructor.
UKCC/BCU level 2 coach. Stand Up Paddle Sports Instructor. Experience for two seasons operating at a Senior Instructor Level Other National governing body qualifications.
Accommodation (shared room basis), transport to and from the base is supplied.
Chinese VISA fee reimbursed on arrival in China.
Flight and transfer to Hong Kong and on your allocated Base at the start of your contract.
Flight and transfer to UK at the end of your contract.
Annual Leave according to your length of contract.
6 day working week with hours/days varying due to the demand on the business.
Salary 7,000 RMB per month, £817.76 per month (exchange rate estimated as of November 2016)
Bonus1,000 RMB per month, £117 per month paid by the contract end. Salary paid monthly into Chinese Bank account in RMB. Probability of working in several different locations within China.

We have a large fleet of Toppers, Topaz’s and Omega sailing dinghies with varying levels throughout the bases the largest being 34 Toppers, 20 Topaz and 10 Omegas in our Longcheer base.
Your experience, professionalism, exceptionally high standards and safety ethos will set the benchmark for other members of staff. The primary role is overseeing the busy Watersports operation, ensuring activities are delivered to the highest standards and that all resources are available for deployment.
You will also contribute towards staff training and the active promotion of the Bases to local schools, colleges and youth groups. You will support the Waterfront and Base Management team in day-to-day operations whilst observing health and safety principles and processes. We would expect you to have a proven track record of managing small teams of staff, delivering staff training and the ability to work independently to tight deadlines.
You will be an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated member of staff, who believes in the value of outdoor education. You will have a broad experience of outdoor activities and have at least two years’ experience of working in centres, with two years as an active RYA Senior Instructor.
