Permanent Instructor

Staylittle and Ty Gwyn Outdoor Centres are run by Powys County Council in Mid Wales, to provide Outdoor Activity for Powys residents and visitors to the area. The main groups that attend during the season are primary schools, but a variety of other groups use the facilities:
Youth Groups
Corporate Teambuilding
Management Training Courses
Basic Skills Course
D of E
Princes Trust and YMCA

Staylittle
Staylittle is a purpose built 50-bed outdoor centre that is situated in the heart of Mid-Wales 7 miles North of Llanidloes. The centre makes full use of the surrounding area, which includes the Plynlimon Mountains, the Hafren Forest and the River Severn. Most of the activities take place on Llyn Clywedog reservoir a 615-acre lake.

Activities include, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, raft building, abseiling, local and mountain walking, field studies and orienteering.

Ty Gwyn
Ty Gwyn is a converted 1930’s hospital located in Llyngwril just North of Tywyn on the coast over looking the beach. The centre conducts similar activities to Staylittle, but utilises the local estuary for its water sports. In addition, the centre also makes use of the sea cliffs for rock climbing and has Cadair Idris a short distance away.
Applicants

Successful candidates will hold at least two NGB including the following: RYA Senior or Dinghy Instructor. BCU level 1/2. In addition SPA or ML are desirable along with a clean D1 driving licence and a RYA level 2 powerboat certificate.

In addition, you will need to be flexible in your approach to work, work well in a team and be committed to maintaining high levels of professionalism.

Pay: £14,733 per annum
Hours of Work: 37 plus one evening/overnight duty a week (subject to group requirements)

Accommodation available if necessary

Training:
Actively encouraged as well as paid for where appropriate.
