Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre are looking to recruit Casual Water Sports Instructors for our summer programme at our Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre near Bournemouth.
Main tasks:
* To instruct outdoor activities as directed by the centre management team
* Preparing, setting up, clearing away, washing up where applicable and storing apparatus, equipment and materials for lessons, demonstrations, etc.
* Issuing materials and equipment in a safe condition to students and staff
* Assisting staff and students in the use of apparatus and equipment
* Physical demonstration of experiments/machines to members of staff and students, where this requires the application of acquired skills.
* Simple construction, maintenance, fault finding, repair and servicing of equipment and where necessary, arranging repair via the Senior Centre Staff.
* Undertaking regular safety checks on equipment, tools and materials used to ensure they comply with Health and Safety Regulations and requirements.
Qualifications/experience:
* Educated to at least GCSE Level
*
First Aid qualification
* Educated to GCSE Level English and Maths Grade C (desirable)
* Outdoor activities experience
* NGB Coach or Instructor Award, Dingy, Paddlesports
The hourly rate of pay is between £8.00 - £10.00 per hour
