The Travel Class Business is one of the fastest growing providers of school residential and day activity centres, predominantly to primary schools. Key purpose:
This rewarding role will allow you to draw on your experience of the outdoor pursuits/leisure industry to provide professional assessment and support to groups of Modern Apprentice Activity Instructors, enabling them to realise their career potential and deliver exceptional service to our customers.
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare and assess Apprenticeship candidates for assessment in their workplace.
To provide Apprenticeship candidates with feedback from assessment.
To assist Apprenticeship candidates in portfolio preparation.
To provide Apprenticeship candidates and others with underpinning knowledge.
To undertake all necessary preparation, administration and assessment associated with support of Apprenticeship candidates.
To continually review Apprenticeship candidates' progress and assist in action planning to promote their learning.
To provide appropriate learning support to enable effective assessment.
To participate in the planning and implementation of schemes of assessment.
To participate in enrolment and induction of Apprenticeship candidates onto programmes.
To provide up to date information related to the role of NVQ Assessor to the Internal Verifier and Training Manager.
To participate in centre devised professional development activities.
To devise personal professional development activities.
To participate in appraisal schemes.
To participate in self-assessment activities including observation of learning sessions if needed
Key skills and experience:
Proven assessment track record and experience of holding a caseload of more than 20 + learners
Wide knowledge and working experience of the outdoor pursuits industry
Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people
Experience of liaising with employers and external agencies
Good customer care
Good organizational skill
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Has a flexible approach to work
Works pro-actively and shows commitment throughout
Is energetic and enthusiastic
Has strong communication skills
Current full UK driving license
Willing to travel throughout the UK
Qualifications:
A1 Assessors qualification is essential for this role
Key skills in "Application of Number" and "Communication" at Level 2 would be desirable
