Information, Advice and Guidance Worker

90% of this role is one to one delivery of information; advice and guidance with young offenders aged 14-18, identifying opportunities for learning and employment, signposting or matching needs to ensure they are firmly established within education, training and employment.

Maintaining positive working relationships with statutory referral agencies within the East Midlands Y.O.T. services and secure estate.

Experience:
*Demonstrable experiences of working effectively with clients exhibiting very challenging behaviour.
*MIS and management information.

Understanding:
*Employment needs of young and adult unemployed.
*Motivational Techniques.

Skills:
*Effective personal organisation and project delivery skills.
*Experience of 'peer to pere' sharing good practice would be desirable.
Also desirable are:
*Effective working with other agencies/partners.
*Establishing new working relationships.
*Experience of working with the juvenile justice system.
*Financial/budgetary awareness.
*Recruiting, supporting volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Full driving licence. Some form of relevant Youth Work, Information Advice and Guidance, Teaching, or Development Training qualification.
