Assistant Head of Outdoor Pursuits

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Outdoor Pursuits department at a time of considerable growth in the school. This is a new post to reflect the changing nature of the school which will welcome the first co-educational year groups into Years 7 and 9 in September 2010.

The Upper school currently consists of 760 pupils including a fully co-educational Sixth Form consisting of (99 girls and 175 boys). The post holder will work alongside the Head of Outdoor Pursuits, Mr Chris Brickel.

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting the Head of Outdoor Pursuits with the 5th Cambridge Scout troop and the Perse Exploration Society and be expected to attend all the camps, trips and expeditions which take place during the year. There are currently 12 leaders involved in the Perse Exploration Society and a further 30 teachers, instructors and parents involved with the Scout Troop.


QUALIFICATIONS
All relevant qualifications are of interest. However ML (Summer), ML (Winter), IML, Day/Coastal Skipper, SPA, Canoe/Kayak and Medical qualifications are of particular interest. Candidates with experience but without formal qualifications would be required to gain them with the school's support.
