2010 Instructor Vacancies - Start Dates From April 2010

Adventure Okehampton is set on the northern edge of Dartmoor we have two sites providing activities as well as offering activities for day visitors. The centre is close to Dartmoor National Park in this beautiful part of the South West, Exeter is 25 miles away by road.
A full range of outdoor activities takes place and the site buzzes with excitement all day every day! Activities include rock climbing, high ropes, gorge scrambling, pony trekking, archery, mountain biking, mountain boarding, walking, sailing, kayaking, raft building, surfing and body boarding.

The centre also runs an extensive HND instructor training program and Public services courses for a number national colleges. During school holidays a summer camp and family activity program keeps the centre buzzing. A range of courses to NGBs awards and general interests run for most of the year.

ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS
Lead Instructors We are looking for experienced instructors to take a lead role in watersports, climbing and walking. Contracted for a 36 hour week until the beginning of November although longer contracts can be negotiated. Your weekly hours will vary with longer working hours expected in the core season and less hours during quiet times, we operate a time in lieu contract. Interested applicants should have at least 2 national governing body awards as well as the appropriate experience in the area they are to lead. This role will require responsibility of helping to train junior staff and maintaining kit and equipment logs along with the main role of leading activity sessions for a variety of groups and individuals. Salary £7.20 to £8.20 per hour, salary will depend on experience.

MULTI ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS
Level 2 Instructors We are looking for experienced instructors holding two or more national governing body awards we will also consider candidates with at least one NGB with relevant experience to lead activity sessions for a variety of groups. Contracted for a 36 hour week we have two contracts available one from April – November the other from April - September although longer contracts can be negotiated. Your weekly hours will vary with longer working hours expected in the core season and less hours during quiet times, we operate a time in lieu contract. Candidates are expected to be confident with taking a lead role on activity sessions with the relevant training.
Salary £6.50 to £7.20 per hour, salary will depend on experience.

MULTI ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS
Level 1 Instructors We are looking for instructors with little experience looking to progress and work their first season. Or individuals who have experience working with children. National governing body awards are an advantage however not essential as we are able to help with training. Your main roles will be assisting a more experienced instructor on activity sessions for a variety of groups. You will progress through the season to take a lead role in the activity sessions. Contracted for a 36 hour week we have two contracts available one from April – November the other from April - September although longer contracts can be negotiated. Your weekly hours will vary with longer working hours expected in the core season and less hours during quiet times, we operate a time in lieu contract. Candidates are expected to be confident with taking a lead role on activity sessions with the relevant training.
Salary £5.80 to £6.50 per hour, salary will depend on experience.
