A vacancy exists for a Trainee Instructor (Apprenticeship) on a temporary contract
(18 months) at the Centre, to commence in June 2008. The Centre is facing a further period of development with an Abseil Tower due for completion in late 2008 / early 2009 as part of the expansion of its facilities and opportunities for young people and adults.
The work involves assisting with delivering a variety of outdoor activities including: Canoeing, Kayaking, Climbing (indoor & outdoor), Mountain Biking, Orienteering, Navigation, Raft-building, Team-building activities and Environmental studies, plus other duties associated with the running of such sessions.
The essential qualifications for this post are a minimum of 2 GSCE’s at grade D or above (or equivalent) and an interest in working in the industry. Some experience in outdoor activities is essential (for details - please see the Job Description on our website - link below).
The post will involve one day a week during term time studying for an NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership at a local College of Further Education.
Applicants are advised that for the purposes of fulfilling the requirements of the Apprenticeship scheme, they should be between the ages of 16 - 24 years.
