Communications officer
Location: Costa Rica & Nicaragua and Malaysia
Salary and Benefits Voluntary post
Date Posted: 29/4/2008

Description:
If you are 25 or over and are interested in a rewarding and adventurous experience this summer then Raleigh International is
looking for you!

We have volunteer positions available for a communications officer on our 13 week expedition to Costa Rica & Nicaragua starting on 18th June and one for our 8 week expedition to Malaysia starting on 14th July.

Raleigh works in partnership with government, local communities and NGO's on worthwhile and sustainable, environmental, community and adventure projects and needs top quality people to help them run and support them in delivering these projects.

The role of the communications officer is extremely varied and to a certain extent will depend on the country you are working in. All countries have internal communications requirements, however some country directors may need more support in obtaining sponsorship, fundraising and media coverage than others. On one day you could be writing copy for a magazine, organising a British Ambassador's visit to a project site and meeting the managing director of a sugar business to get supplies for the expedition!

If you have a 'can-do' attitude, lots of energy and want to help young people and local communities, we would like to hear from you.

Please note that all volunteer managers will be expected to make a financial contribution to the charity to help run the expedition.

Our next London open event will be on 21st May!
