Description: We require a person to lead and provide a structured outdoor education experience for children and other groups. A creative and open approach with a real desire to create a service uniquely attractive for users is required.
Duties include:
* To implement the philosophy, role and objectives of the service, within the policies and guidelines established by the Board & Senior Management Team.
* To lead and manage the Outdoor Education Service providing a positive role model for both children & staff.
* To organise, in conjunction with the School's managers, the outdoor programme and directly participate in that programme which will occasionally involve working irregular hours and overnight trips.
* To line manage and provide regular supervision for the outdoor staff.
* To contribute to the development of school policies and procedures and the whole school development plan.
* To ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory bodies to include the AALA licence.
* To develop and sustain positive working relationships with all HETL staff and with parents, carers and external agency professionals.
* To manage and maintain the equipment and resources of the outdoor centre.
* To manage the centre's activities within the agreed budget.
QUALIFICATIONS
evidence of commitment to outdoor education through either academic or vocational qualifications/IOL accredited practitioner status
