Things
are starting to look up. 'Festina'
is starting to look like her old self
(and I am starting to recover from
chronic backache!). Most of the varnishing
is done apart from a couple of coats
on the floor with a non slip addative
thrown in for good measure. A few
small jobs remain, such as refitting
the old self balers and putting the
new transom flaps on (see below).
The boat is almost ready to get wet!

The boat is going back to Aft sheeted.
A big stainless steel shackle had
been fitted to make her mid-sheeted
but it looks wrong. The old traveller
is in bit twisted but still in good
enough shape. The bronze rollocks
are brand new and represent 'festina''s
only alternative power. They were
expensive but at this stage, who cares.

Al Parker and Lynch senior start to
put her back together. All the original
fittings have been cleaned, polished,
oiled and generally sorted. A few
of the modern additions have been
despatched to the rubbish bin and
more traditional alternatives found.
