Time
is pressing to make some progress,
I am in for a session of knee surgery
soon so Friday evening saw myself
and the 'heavy gang', comprising of
Al Parker and Jon Allen turn 'festina'
so we can get at the hull. The upper
works have had 5 coats of varnish
and will get at least another 2 coats
when we turn her back.

Again, there is very little damage
from nearly fifty years of use. The
small number of scars tell of either
careful use or as a testament to her
builders, Fairey Marine. The keelband
is damaged in a few places but this
is a minor repair job.
Compared to sanding the upper works
this is going to be easy!!!!!

The new transom flaps have been made
from some strips of teak which have
been sitting in my Dads shed for over
25 years. The strips are only a few
mm's thick so I have laminated two
together using 'Cascamite' and a fistfull
of clamps.
