Located in the beautiful village of Lanlivery, near Bodmin, Churchtown is easy to get to, with excellent transport links, and provides a gateway to the many attractions of Cornwall. Close to the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House (National Trust), the Cornish coast and the delightful working port of Fowey, Churchtown has a lot to offer.

Churchtown is Vitalise’s accessible Centre for adults with physical, sensory and learning disabilities. Guests may come to the Centre independently or accompanied by a carer. A number of special children’s weeks are also organised, and a carer must accompany any children between the ages of 6 and 12.

Set within a tranquil Cornish environment and surrounded by attractive countryside, the 12-acre grounds have well-kept gardens, a small working farm, nature reserve, maze, outdoor terrace with barbeque, heated indoor swimming pool, and licensed bar.

Rooms
Churchtown has 5 twin en-suite and 6 single en-suite accessible bedrooms. All the rooms are simply furnished. Each room has a call system and hoists can be provided. There are also 4 non en-suite single rooms in which, unfortunately, hoists are not available. Adjustable beds and specialised care equipment are limited in supply, but can be ordered in for your stay, for which a small additional charge will be made.

Level of Care
Guests requiring care should be aware that the Centre is registered to provide personal care only, including assisting with bathing, dressing and helping at meal times. Volunteers also provide support and companionship for guests.

Nursing care or procedures cannot be provided at the Centre. Churchtown can cater for guests requiring nursing care only if a district nurse attends them in their own homes (continuity of this care can be arranged through your district nurse), or if accompanied by a carer who will provide this. Certain conditions may require you to be accompanied by an active carer who must provide your care, rather than coming independently.

Churchtown is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection, CSCI, who carry out regular inspections of the Centre.
