Outdoor Leadership Training - A 4 month intensive course Based in Dartmoor and Spain

This four month intensive course provides you with the opportunity to become an outdoor pursuits instructor; it is ideal for those who want to take ?time out? to develop their personal skills or embark on a new career. This is also 16 weeks of personal development where candidates will see themselves improve in confidence and self belief.

The Aim

• To develop the technical skills and judgement to be self reliant in river, rock and mountain environments.
• To achieve the leadership skills and knowledge required to coach others at an introductory level, meeting the requirements of the National Governing Body awards.
• To gain an understanding of group dynamics and leadership roles with the use of regular group debriefing and the review process.
• To improve your confidence and motivation

The course is based in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park, Devon. From here we perfectly placed to access the rugged moorland of Dartmoor to learn navigation skills, but within easy reach of both the north and south coasts of Devon and Cornwall for climbing and surf kayaking.

We will be paddling rivers across the region including the rivers Dart and Tamar. The Course will also take us into north and south Wales where you will experience higher and harsher environments and where you will receive both your Mountain Leader training, Swiftwater Rescue Level 3 and Mountain First Aid training.
