Outdoor Instructor Training and Assessment Course

Our unique course aim to have you fully-qualified and ready to work with five National Governing Body awards, regardless of prior experience. By qualified we mean that you will have not just undertaken your training but also your assessments in;
* Mountain Training - Hill & Moorland Leader (HML)
* Mountain Training - Expedition Skills Module (ESM)
* Mountain Training - Climbing Wall Award (CWA)
* Mountain-bike Instructor Award Scheme (MIAS) Level 1 & Level 2
* Mountain-bike Cycle Fit-Inspect-Test (FIT) - Cycle mechanics.
* Mountain Medicine First Aid in the Outdoors

How do we do this?
It is hard to focus on too many activities at once. At the Delaware Centre we have focused on the important and achievable land-based adventurous activities that are needed throughout the South West. They complement one-another and combine to be a winning employable package.
Each awarding body has prerequisites that you need to achieve before you can attain training or assessment. Our unique training model provides ample opportunity to gain each of these pre-requisite days for your NGB logbooks before your assessment days.
* 16-week Intensive Instructor Training and Assessment Course
* 30th October 2017 - 2nd March 2018
* Minimum Age 18 years
* Resident or non-resident options available
* Support provided towards professional career development loan applications
* Instalment plans available
Within the course you will be among other candidates with similar aspirations. You will make great friendships and share experiences that will be unique and memorable for years to come. You will be able to organise your own weekend trips to consolidate your learning and build your activity logbook so that you can shine at assessment.
Our unique location sitting between Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor offers so many options for you to explore. Indoor climbing venues such as The Barn, Dart Rock, High Sports Plymouth and The Quay Exeter. Additionally we are central to some of the South West's best mountain biking venues; Lanhydrock, Cardinham, Holden Hill and of course Dartmoor itself.
