Watersports Instructor Traineeship

About UKSA:
UKSA is a youth charity offering transformational opportunities for young people through sailing and watersports. We focus on three areas: personal development, schools and group visits, and professional maritime training. We are based in Cowes, Isle of Wight - the heart of the yachting world.

We don't just offer certification and training, as a youth charity we can offer that bit extra. We really look after our young people. Our careers students benefit from 1:1 mentoring, access to our careers network, realistic careers advice and help with CVs. We help over 9,000 people a year to achieve their personal best. We have a fantastic fleet, a waterfront campus, inspirational instructors and great facilities.

Watersports Instructor Traineeship:
This intensive 22 week programme is designed to provide direct employment for 16-18 year olds into the watersports industry. The course covers four disciplines – Windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, Dinghy Sailing and Kayaking.

Entry requirements:
Minimum of 4 GCSEs (A*-C) within English, Maths, Science and PE - desirable but not essential
Related Level 2 (Merit or Distinction)
Successful interview
Coaching or Leadership Qualifications/Awards

Who is the course for?:
Those wanting a career in sports coaching and instruction
Those wanting to progress to university with accumulated UCAS points

Duration: 22 weeks

Successful completion of the traineeship will prepare you for direct employment in the watersports industry.
