Description:
Corporate and Team Building
Every organisation wants to create a working situation where people
involved can perform at their best - finding satisfaction in their
work and providing the organisation with optimal performance.
It should be a relationship where the individual and the organisation
both win.
Training in the outdoors provides excellent context for building
this relationship. The outdoors, when facilitated by highly trained
and experienced people, provides a learning environment where
people can develop essential skills quickly and retain them permanently.
Outdoor management training helps your employees develop skills
in:
- Communication.
- Goal setting & reviewing.
- Problem solving.
- Relationship building.
- Giving and receiving corrective feedback.
- Negotiation.
- Resource Management.
- Leadership.
- Assessing and managing risk.
These skills are learned by meeting the challenges of carefully
sequenced activities that build in complexity to increasingly
challenge the team. Once each activity has been completed, the
team spend time de-briefing to make sure that all potential learning
is achieved.
The beauty of this kind of training is that it utilises the difference
between real and perceived risk.
Participants see risks and have the opportunity to practise REAL
skills to deal with the risks they encounter. However every activity
is carefully managed and the level of risk is actually quite small
- less in fact, than driving yourself to work. This allows participants
to develop in real situations without the potential for real loss.
The common perception of outdoor-based training as a scary and
humiliating 'test' run in a military style is simply not true.
The training environment at Raasay Outdoor Centre is intensely
supportive at every stage and there is something to be found for
everyone in every activity. The well being of our clients is always
one of our greatest concerns, whether it be from their physical
and emotional state to the quality of catering and hospitality
that they receive.
This is what some of our past clients have said:
'Fantastic, tremendous, unbelievably excellent in every respect.
Thank you everyone.' (Neil Joens, Shell UK/Barkers PR)
'I totally enjoyed the experience, the location, the company
of the instructors/facilitators and found it a useful and productive
event.'
(Jeff Luker, British Telecom)
Each programme is designed via a needs analysis to meet the exact
needs of the individual client.
