Schools and Youth groups
Situated on the beautiful Isle of Raasay off the west coast of
Scotland, Raasay House provides residential accommodation for
school and youth groups and offers a wealth of outdoor opportunities
and experiences in a unique and beautiful environment.
We have been providing outdoor education courses to school groups
for over 18 years. Groups and schools return to Raasay House because
of the programmes we offer are challenging, varied, flexible,
fun and occupy the whole day and early evening.
Our team are fully trained and experienced in the delivery of
outdoor education and multi-activity learning.
Their skills include
- being able to design challenging and entertaining programs.
- The instruction of outdoor activities.
- Working with and teaching children of all ages.
- Communicating awareness of the environment and how to keep
safe within it.
- Interpreting the experiences and impact of a fully residential
outdoor programme.
What Activities are offered?
There is a wide array of activities that can be offered to your
school or group; these include kayaking, sailing, rock climbing
and abseiling, archery, walking and expeditions. For more details

Safety
The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, a government body
established to ensure competent and safe procedures for centres
working with young people, licenses Raasay Outdoor Centre.
The house grounds and all aspects of activities have undergone
a full risk assessment. This is available on request, along with
our health and safety policy and standard operations procedures.
All our instructional staff hold current and relevant industry
qualifications, including first aid.
Raasay Outdoor Centre is a royal Yachting Association recognised
teaching centre and adheres to specific guidelines and recommendations
promoted by the national governing body for each outdoor pursuit.
