Description:
Teaching Navigation

An excellent introduction to navigation for teachers and trainers.

If you are faced with the challenge of teaching a group of students how to navigate it can be difficult to know where to start. This course is designed for teachers by teachers to provide you with a framework of information on which to base your sessions. If you are fairly new to navigating you may remember the way you were taught certain skills and we can build on that by providing you with the games and ideas required to teach beginners. For those of you who have been navigating for a long time, it can be tricky to introduce the basics without overloading students with too much information. This ‘Teaching Navigation’ course is the ideal way to feel confident about teaching navigation to a variety of groups and is perfect for Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders and Ten Tors trainers.
Previous experience: competent navigating in good visibility.
Length: 1 day
