How Will The Course Be Structured?
To lead activities in any outdoor centre you will need the appropriate level of experience, in house assessments and NGB qualifications. The instructor training programme will be structured around these three eliments;

Experience – Gaining solid skills through personal involvemnt in individual activities in a diverse range of environments, locations and weather conditions. Reinforcing personal skills through assisting in the coaching of others.

‘In House’ Assessments – Deemed compitent to lead or assist on a specific activity in a specific location. These awards are valid for Adventure Okehampton and its centres only – they are not transferble to any other outdoor centre – although they do highlight a level of competence attractive to any other outdoor business.

National Governing Body Awards (NBGs) - A lot of activities have their own governing body – much like the F.A is the governing Body of football. These bodies exist to promote national standards, ethics, coaching & training programmes. Most British coaching and instructing awards are so well respected that they are recognised internationally.
