Discover Kayaking for Improvers (BCU 2 star)

A 2-day course suitable for those with previous paddling skills and some recent paddling experience. The course is open to those over 12 years old accompanied by an adult participant, as the autumn water conditions can be cold. Resident Rate includes 2 nights Full Board Accommodation and 2 days of instruction.

On the first day you will usually cover further sessions about safety on the water, suitable technqiues for paddling river 2/3 conditions, and what to do if you capsize.

Then you will have a second kayak day on a local river returning to the Youth Hostel arriving mid afternoon for a final debrief from Leader. The rivers used will vary depending on river conditions and the experience of the participants. A safe session extending your skills will be our priority. Several of our instructors are have advanced coaching certificates and spend their spare time exploring different white water rivers in south-west England, north Wales, and various countries around the world.
