Description: Discover Kayaking for Beginners (BCU 1 star)
This 2 day course meets the requirements for BCU 1 Star. The price includes 2 days accommodation at YHA Okehampton (or YHA Bracken Tor), tuition and equipment. There will be a “getting to know you” session, where the instructor will get information about your past experience of Kayaking and Canoeing.
On the first day you will usually cover safety on the water, how to launch your boat, basic principle of paddling, how to turn your boat and what to do if you capsize. The one star syllabus involves paddling both a canoe and kayak and you will have an opportunity to paddle both crafts.
Day 2 we proceed to a new paddling venue for a day trip and to extend your skills.
