This weekend course offers a fun introduction to both kayaks and canoes. You will cover clothing and equipment,
basic control of the boat and how to capsize safely. Using the heated indoor pool, Bicton Lake and local rivers
our coaches will give you a safe, structured introduction to paddling.

For those with some previous experience in Kayaks and Canoes this weekend course gives the opportunity to
work on the skills needed to progress on to the UKCC Level One Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport .
Working solo or tandem you will learn how to manoeuvre the boat with confidence, perform rescues and look
at elements of leadership and group skills.

For those with some previous experience in Kayaks and Canoes this weekend course gives the opportunity
to be assessed on the skill level needed as a pre-requirement for the UKCC Level One Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport Using the indoor pool and the lake you will be coached and assessed to improve your boat
control, prevent capsizes, perform rescues and show knowledge of leadership and group skills.

 BCU 3 Star Canoe/White Water/Surf/Sea Training and Assessment
This discipline specific selection of BCU awards looks at the paddlers personal competence and rescue skills
in a more challenging environment developing performance from the BCU 2 Star .
The two day training (Trng) course is designed to equip the paddler with the skills needed to pass the
3 Star Assessment (Ass) in their chosen discipline.
The 3 Star award is one of the pre-requirements for Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport.

This weekend course offers a fun introduction to basic skills in Sea Kayaking.
You will cover clothing and equipment, basic control of the boat and how to capsize safely
in a Sea environment. Using the local coastal areas around East Devon our coaches will
give you a safe, structured introduction to Sea Kayaking.

This one day course is designed to equip the paddler with the key safety and rescue skills
required to operate safely and deal with common emergencies. It is not craft specific but experience of a range of craft is desirable. This qualification is a pre-requirement for the
UKCC Level One Certificate in Coaching Paddlesport.

UKCC Level One - Paddlesport Coach
This four day qualification course will introduce you to the fundamentals of good coaching practice and help you to understand and coach technical and tactical aspects of your sport. Level One Coaches can deliver taster sessions in any type of Kayak or Canoe under the supervision of a higher qualified coach.

This qualification is recognised as a benchmark supervisory award in Canoe Clubs and Outdoor Activity Centres. Registration details - www.bcu.org.uk

Price: £200		 National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
This five day qualification equips the candidate with Swimming Pool supervision skills and
rescue techniques needed by Lifeguards.
For those of you thinking about working in Leisure Centre Swimming Pools and Water parks
this is the ideal qualification to get you started.
Please note - There are specific pre-requirements laid down by the Royal Life Saving Society
for those interested in this course.
