Description: The Mountain Leader Summer Award (ML) was introduced to promote the safe enjoyment of hills and Mountains.
The scheme provides training and assessment in the technical and group management skills required by potential leaders of groups in the mountains, hills and moorland throughout the UK and Ireland, in summer conditions only.
The skills required to become a qualified Moutain Leader are developed and taught in a real mountain environment and require personal experience to be accumulated beyond the training course to go on to assessment.
