BTEC National Certificate in Activity and Adventure Tourism Level Three
You will develop the knowledge and understanding required to be an effective employee in this new growth area of travel and tourism.
This is a joint two year programme between the Centre for Travel and Tourism Studies and Sport and Outdoor Activities at Craven College. The content and delivery is informed by our industry partners and will include a residential.
You will learn about the travel industry and tour operations and increase knowledge and understanding of the developing sector of activity and adventure tourism worldwide. You will gain the practical skills needed to be an effective employee within this global industry and will undertake work experience both in the UK and overseas.

Business of Travel and Tourism, Customer Service, Investigating Travel and Tourism, Preparing for Employment in the Industry, Residential Study Visit, Roles and Responsibilities of Holiday Representatives, Skills for Land-based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities, Skills for Water-based Outdoor and Adventurous Activities, Special Interest Tourism, Tour Operations, UK Destinations, Working with Children in Holiday Play settings

Community Sports Leader Award, English Speaking Board, First Aid, Football Academy, Rugby Academy, Martial Arts Academy, Key Skills in Communication and Information Technology
Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade C or above plus English and Maths (minimum grade D)
Career Progression
Employment in the UK and overseas, tour operators, outdoor activities centres, outdoor adventure companies, ski resorts
Higher Education at the Centre for Travel and Tourism Studies, including Foundation Degree in Travel Operations Management and BA (Hons) Management in the Service Sector top-up, Foundation Degree in Outdoor and Adventurous Activities.

Course Length and Study Pattern
One full year. You will complete the course by the Easter of the second year, to help find employment for the upcoming summer season.
