These courses are directed towards people who have already experienced caving and complete beginners who would like to give it a try. The courses can be tailored to suit the needs of the group that come along and different caves can be chosen to accommodate what people want to get out of it.

The Introduction to Caving course is suitable for complete beginners starting with easy caves with nice large chambers and passages, perhaps progressing to harder caves towards the end of the weekend. For those people that have already been caving the Improver's Caving course will contain training on; equipment, assessing dangers, flooding, survey reading, use of guidebooks, conservation, geology and cave morphology, rope-work, clubs and generally guidance on how to carry on caving for those interested.

The South Wales region contains over 137 caves and new discoveries are happening all the time. We are fortunate enough to have the longest cave system in the country (70+km of passages) and some of the prettiest and most decorated in terms of formations.

Caving is a physical activity, you will get bruised and you will ache. There are small spaces and large caverns and at some point you will have to at least crawl on hands and knees to fit through. For those people put off by this, caving is an unbelievable experience which will have you completely hooked from the first try, your senses are overwhelmed with natural beauty and you are compelled to explore and find where things lead to!
