Description:
The Adventure Education Programme at Chichester, takes strength from the involvement of practitioners from activity centre managers on the development team. They place particular importance on the need for graduates to be both scholarly in their understanding of the principles of adventure and experienced as facilitators in the field.

Course Content
Year One Students will consider how the ‘individual’ makes sense of the Adventure Education experience. Critical reflection on your own personal experience is central to the knowledge and understanding.

Year Two The second theme will consider how ‘groups’ perform in the Adventure environment through an understanding of group dynamics and pedagogy. Consideration will be given to aspects such as leadership, facilitation, decision-making and problem-solving.

Year Three Placement Year

Year Four The third theme focuses specifically on ‘the environment’, considering aspects such as ‘low impact’ activities, environmental philosophy and user conflict.
