The Bunk House
This sleeping accommodation is in the heart of The Adventure Centre and consists of two simple spacious bunkrooms, each sleeping 16 people in bunkbeds. The rooms are warm and dry, cleaned on a daily basis and bunks are made up with full duvet sets. The rooms also have separate toilets and showers with an additional nearby shower block. The Bunk House is ideal for groups of paddlers, climbers or walkers looking for easy access to Dartmoor and surrounding rivers/crags/moorland.
With regards to safety, dormitories are fitted with numeric security locks and a panic alarm system. The Bunk House has an up to date Fire Certificate and we adhere to Health and Safety Regulations.
Nun’s Cross Farm
Nun’s Cross Farm is located in a remote area of Dartmoor and the facilities of this charmingbuilding are basic in line with a camping barn. There is however a fully kitted kitchen with gas cookers (4 rings). All the necessary pots, pans, plates, mugs, cooking utensils and cutlery, catering for a total group size of 36. There are two downstairs rooms both of which are fitted with wood burners (wood provided). So the whole farmhouse can be heated. One of the rooms is set up as a dining room with long tables and benches, a great meeting room and somewhere to relax out of the elements. The other sleeps 9 and is more set up for staff sleeping quarters.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms, two larger and onesmall, sleeping 27 on triple bunkbeds. Basic but ample to get a good night’s sleep.
A visit to Nun’s Cross Farm is a truly unique experience and one not to be missed. The farmhouse has no running water but there is a nearby Leat to extract water. There is no electricity, instead there are a few lanterns and the light from the fires for that cosy experience. There is vehicle access nearby down a rocky track, suitable for landrovers or minibuses.

The Adventure Centre is one of the leading providers of outdoor and adventure training courses in the South West. It is ideally located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park within 10 acres of land and boasts excellent on site facilities. We offer a wide range of courses for groups of all ages and ability levels from school group residentials and management training courses to outdoor development courses and intensive instructor training.
