The Adventure Centre and Parkwood Management
Centre is currently one of the leading personal development centres
in the South West. It is an independent Outdoor Development Centre
set in 10 acres of land.

We offer a first class, self-contained activity
site, overlooking the banks of the River Tavy.
The Centre is open all year round and we aim
to provide excellence in outdoor adventure and education.
In close proximity to the Centre can be found
rivers, climbing crags, sheltered quarry lakes, orienteering courses,
high ropes course and Dartmoor National Park.
The Centre provides both kayaking and open canoeing
sessions in a variety of locations. We own two fleets of nine
kayaks and a fleet of seven open canoes all of which are on trailers
and mobile. Basic watersports takes place at Alder Lake , which
is about 15 minutes away from the Centre. This is an ideal safe
learning environment for youngsters and adults to learn basic
paddling strokes.
We have a highly qualified team of Instructors all
of who are British Canoe Union Level 2 Coaches, two of which are
BCU Level 3 Coaches and one whom is a Level 4 Coach. This enables
us to provide a further range of kayaking experiences.
The Centre is BCU approved and is inspected yearly
to ensure we keep to the high standards.We can offer training
and assessments for the British Canoe Union 1-3 Star awards in
Kayaking or Canoeing, plus the Canoe Safety Test, 4 star training,
introduction white water kayak courses and moderate level white
water courses. We can also offer guides for trips.
River Trips
A trip down the Tamar valley in open canoes or kayaks, a great
day out. The Valley possesses some of the most beautiful and unspoilt
scenery in the Westcountry. The valleys of the Tamar and its tributaries,
the Tavy and Lynher, are designated as an Area of Outstanding

Sea Trips
Devon and Cornwall have outstanding coastlines that offer paddling
for the beginner to the more proficient.We use a variety of sheltered
bays and venues including Newton Ferris, Mount Batten, Looe, Bigbury,
and Mount Edgcumbe. Courses are tailored to the group to meet
their own aims and objectives.

THE CENTRE
We provide warm bunkhouse accommodation, catering for in excess
of 64 people. Good showers, recreation room, laundry and drying
facilities are all provided.
Additionally
an option to stay at Nun's Cross Farm, is also included, which
is a remote farm building on Dartmoor, sleeping a further 36.
