RYA sailing courses with Haven Banks OEC

Following the success of students on this years Multi Activity Instructor Training Course, Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre is delivering a shorter intensive course from 25th September—15th December 2006. There are two course options available.

Option 1 - For those who have little or no experience or qualifications in adventurous activities. Aimed at getting the first steps on the ladder to becoming a nationally qualified Outdoor & Adventurous Activity Instructor.

Option 2 - For those who already hold National Governing Body Coaching Qualifications, and want to progress further and gain a higher level of coaching awards. Applicants may have already worked in the industry and want to progress to a higher level of coach award.

All training is obviously led by qualified and experienced instructors who have many years of coaching experience behind them.

Following the course employment may become available at the Haven Banks or you may wish to use your skills and qualifications locally, nationally or internationally.

Depending on your level of award or skill prior to the course, qualifications may include -

RYA Dinghy Levels 1-Seamanship skills, Dinghy Assistant Instructor, Instructor, Powerboat level 2 (Coastal or Inland) Safety Boat. Windsurfing Levels 1 & 2

BCU Kayak 1- 4 Star, Canoe Safety Test, Level 1 Coach, Level 2 Coach, Level 3 Coach Training and Assessment as appropriate, Canoe 1-3 Star. Level 1 Coach

MLTB Rock Climbing - D.C.C. Climbing Wall Supervisor Training/Assessment, Single Pitch Award, Training/Assessment (as appropriate).

First Aid Mountain Medicine. First Aid First Responder (8 hour) or 2 Day Emergency First Aid Course

B.C.A Site Specific Cave Leader, Local Cave Leader Award (LCLA) Level 1 Award, Training/Assessment (as appropriate).

OTC Trail Mountain Bike Leader or Technical Mountain Bike Leader as appropriate.

All transport, equipment, training, experience and assessment are covered in the cost of £1500.
