Expedition food mountain with thanks
to the food sponsors

Today was our rest day and the chance to sort out our equipment. Having moved into individual tents yesterday, we all enjoyed a spacious sleeping platform. With the warmth of the morning sun, kit was laid out outside as Dave Bunting, Dave Pearce and Ian Venables sorted the climbing equipment, Colin Scott and Larry Foden the food, Roddy McArthur the Satellite systems, and the majority of the remainder constructed Neil Greenwood's combination of a toilet and shower. Dan Carroll and John Doyle ventured further up the hill to recce tomorrows first acclimatisation climb.

As the day progressed our Base Camp took on a more orderly appearance. A group of 4, led by Steve Jackson, visited the other three expeditions in their Base Camps 100m above us. These consisted of a team of 4 Swiss climbers, the Korean team with 6 climbers and 6 climbing sherpas, and the Indian Tibetan Border Police team. The latter are a massive team but only their advance party have arrived so far. This is the third attempt for Korean team who have already tried to ascend Kangchenjunga in 1997 and 1999.

David, the photo today is of some of the food products kindly donated to our expedition by some of our sponsors.
