Junior Team Report 21st April 2000
Today is a red letter day for the Junior Team since we have finally vanquished gremlins with our solar pannels and email system and have managed to down load 44 messages from the outside world.
The team is well although one or two people are acclimtising slower than the rest. Everyone has carried to Camp 1 at 5200m and 4 of the team , David Nicolls, Ben MacInnis, Darren Swift and Mark Lewis moved up the glacier to stay at Camp1. Tomorow they will attempt to establish Camp 2 at 6000m and then after a rest push on for the summit.
Our base camp at Pangpema is bedecked with colourful prayer flags from the puja ceremony which was held on 19 April. Offerings of holy rice blessed by the Lama at Ghunsa, were made along with biscuits and rum.
