A destination for true adventure lovers, where they will be able to fly, dive, climb, learn the skills for adventure at Basecamp or take on some seriously high ropes.

At The Bear Grylls Adventure is a brand new attraction located at the Birmingham NEC - the first of its kind in the UK where guests can conquer epic mental and physical challenges inspired by the world’s greatest adventurer, Bear Grylls. At this exciting new attraction based at The Birmingham NEC, we are looking for a go-getting Trade Sales Specialist to drive sales and group bookings.
The role’s core responsibility is to implement strong Corporate, Schools, and Group Marketing Strategies delivering budgeted visitor numbers, revenue as well as creating strong network relationships and partnerships for the attraction.

Job Purpose
To deliver new business to the attraction, with a particular focus on Corporates, Schools and Groups business
To deliver volume, Revenue and Yield targets to achieve Trade Sales performance.
Drive key domestic trade sales channels including motorcoach tour operators, schools/camps and group leader markets through participation in trade shows, exhibitions, sales missions, group leader shows and direct client sales calls.
Contact key decision makers at Schools/ Home Schools to communicate product and build relationship to achieve endorsement and drive sales channels.
Drive volume through Group organizations such as summer camps/summer schools, after school programmes etc.
Develop and evolve incremental sales channels growth through trade online & offline ticket agents ensuring price parity through website match, corporate affinity partner programme and network marketing opportunities.
Build, extend and maintain a client database that will enable future growth & development opportunities to sustain trade sales growth potentialEnsure trade booking journey is optimized for trade clients and ensure booking processes are defined and executed as agreed internally and externally
Maintain and track all trade sales activity across key client accounts and mailings activityLook to forecast & project sales targets across all trade sales channels
Manage trade support, travel and subsistence budgets reporting expenditure on a monthly basis Effectively manage the trade sales yield, budget lines and financial resource
Demonstrate flexibility and maturity with the ever changing nature of the industry and our business needs, embrace and encourage change, actively promote teamwork and synergy through effective communication
Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers
Represent The Bear Grylls Adventure and Merlin in a manner that will provide a positive image to all trade sales clients.
Must have the initiative and drive to develop this new role for our new brand, The Bear Grylls Adventure within Merlin Entertainments

About You
We are looking for an ‘On brand’ action orientated ‘go getter’ who is passionate about what The Bear Grylls Adventure has to offer
Must be able to demonstrate ability to apply and deliver a creative approach to the role
Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and IT skills
Working knowledge of using IT: key social media platforms, CRM/contact databases, the Microsoft Office Suite
Critically important is experience of working in a customer facing role that has involved the building of long term business relationships
Ability to work as part of a small team in a fast moving environment Ability to travel to meet with key businesses across the Midlands and beyond
Able to work occasional evenings and weekends Knowledge and understanding of the Birmingham and Midlands area, its communities and businesses is desirable
Project management, including planning, managing timescales and budgeting
Ability to present to small and large groups
Excellent copywriting and written communication skills
Skilled at persuasive, professional, clear verbal communication
Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills
Excellent planning, prioritising and organisational skillsWillingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities
Committed to personal development
Collaborative and supportive attitude in a team
At least 2 years in a sales role that seeks out and drives new business
Educated to degree level or professional qualification equivalent.Trade sales and marketing experience a definite plus
A clear understanding of the local market, with a particular focus on children and parents, competitors and trading environment is also essential to the success of this role.
The ability to network and influence across the leisure, tourism and business sectors.
