Description: Development Instructor
Job reference 008379
The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. We work with 11 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training. We are committed to equality and valuing diversity.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen in our Birmingham centre to join the Adventurous Activities team. In this role you will be able to use your outdoor skills to affect change in young people's lives. We use a mixture of outdoor residential and day sessions to change young people's lives for the better.
You will get to deliver a wide range of outdoor activities across a wide range of venues including North and South Wales. There is an opportunity to deliver in other parts of the country in our other centres.
In this role you will have time for development both inside and outside the job with generous training opportunities, quarterly AA development days, 3 days of technical training guaranteed per year, no work commitments at the weekend, toil accrued for residentials and an average of 35 hours per week.
If you have experience using the outdoors as a medium for personal social development and want to work in a supportive and forward looking team we would love to hear from you.
The Prince's Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check.
