Summary of Job
We believe that amazing things happen in the great outdoors. We inspire, coach and teach thousands of young people each year in the art of Adventure and all of those adventures start when someone gets in touch with the centre to make a booking. Our Customer Support Coordinators are our front line in helping Scouts, School and other organised groups access the great adventures we have to offer by managing our bookings, being a point of contact of all of our guests and keeping the administrative cogs turning in the background. Working in one of the country’s most inspirational locations this is an opportunity to join the Scout Adventures team at Great Tower and help groups make the most of what we have by listening to their needs, working with them to design and plan their adventures, making sure all of the relevant administration is completed smoothly during the booking process, and ensuring a seamless transition from a voice on the phone to arriving for the adventure of a lifetime.
We’re looking someone who is as passionate as we are about getting young people outdoors to have an adventure. You’ll be well organised and care about getting the details right. With previous experience of working in a similar environment you’ll have a clear understanding of what our exceptional customer service looks like and will be willing to go the extra mile to give each of our customers the support they need to make their adventures happen. You’ll be methodical in your work, understand the need to communicate clearly and share information, and will be happy to learn and use our systems and processes to help manage a diverse range of customers.
Scout Adventures offers inspiring outdoor learning experiences for both young people and adults. Drawing on over 100 years of Scouting heritage and expertise, we specialise in creating tailor-made packages that are fun, challenging and deliver specific skills and learning outcomes. Great Tower is a stunning location on the East side of Lake Windermere occupying over 250 acres of woodland, and with a dedicated water base on the lake itself. Working with upwards of 15,000 young people each year the team deliver life changing experiences based around adventures in the lake district – including mountain walking, caving, ghyll scrambling, sailing, canoeing and wide range of onsite activities such as high ropes and tomahawk throwing.
