Fairburn Activity Centre Ltd is the Highlands original Multi-Activity Outdoor Adventure Venue and has been open for over 20 years. We are located on 80 acres of private woodland within Fairburn Estate in the stunning Strathconon Glen.

Alongside outdoor activities, we also run as a Bed and Breakfast and Conference Centre. We cater for all groups from school residential stays and cooperate team building to stag and hen do’s and our activities range from Paintballing and Zorbing, to Canoeing and Climbing.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to become our Senior Instructor at Fairburn Activity Centre and work as part of a dynamic team to assist in the successful running of the business.

Function of Work
The Senior Instructor will be responsible for supporting the Centre Manager and a team of Activity Instructors in the day to day operation of the Centre. You must be passionate and experienced in the delivery of water and land based activities training to Activity Instructors. You will ensure the product delivery along with safety and welfare of all Customers at the Centre.
Managing a team of Activity Instructors, you will lead by example and ensure that your team are enthused, motivated and focused on delivering activities in line with operating standards and exceeding expectations of Party Leaders. The activity team will act as exemplary role models and must be focused on delivering high quality activity experiences that meet learning objectives and governing body standards.

Essential Requirements
21 years old or above with a valid clean driving license
Experienced in the delivery of water and land based activities on and off site
Organizational skills to enable achievement of weekly deadlines
Previous experience in the delivery of training of in house activity sessions to instructors
Motivational & inspiring to lead and drive a team to achieve excellent results
Previous experience in working in line with Governing Body and Trade Association codes of practice and inspection criteria
Satisfactory receipt of previous employment references and Enhanced DBS Disclosure
Desirable Qualifications
GNAS Award / Archery Leader Award
MLTB Summer Mountain Leader
TCL or relevant cycle NGB
BCU Level 3 Canoe Coach
Relevant First Aid Qualifications

Daily Tasks
Supervise and offer leadership to outdoor instructors
Support the office manager with all activity related programs.
Act as a technical expert for all activities provided by Fairburn Activity Centre Ltd.
Attend to construction work appropriate to outdoor activities.
Teach and lead activities offered by Fairburn Activity Centre Ltd.
Ensure that activity equipment is safe and serviceable before use.
Advise the manager of current issues relating to outdoor activities.
Ensure that all Safety Guidelines and Risk Assessments are adhered to.
Oversee and complete all requirements of registration for the AALS.
Ensure outdoor activity sessions run to timetable.
Maintain equipment on activity sites.
Ensure that changing rooms, showers and public toilets are cleaned, locked and bins emptied at the end of each activity day, ready for the next day.
Be a key driver of the development of new activities for the Company.
In non activity time help with general maintenance in and around the main building.
Assist the Domestic and Catering staff from time to time.
Other duties as required as directed by the Centre Manager.
Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to the Company’s uniform policy at all times.
