If working in outdoor education is the adventure you’ve been dreaming of, Ford Castle is the place for you, a medieval castle set in the rolling countryside with exciting activities hidden within the grounds. Our Activity Instructors are the all-action Medieval Knights to our adventurers, the flag tower of trust for our party leaders and parents and the frontispiece of Ford Castle. Being a member of the yoke at our majestic castle you’ll be leading activities, organising entertainment and making sure your group have a stupendous stay with us.
This a phantasmagorical excuse to share your passion of sports and the outdoors, to unearth new things to love, to make new friends and revel in a lifestyle and an experience which you be with you forevermore.

We are looking for applicants who are…
-Over the age of 18 and have a keen interest in the outdoors
-Flexible about their location and happy to live on site at Ford Castle
-Motivated and committed to developing their career
-Have experience working in an activity instructor roleFencing & Archery qualifications are desirable
All our staff take part in an induction, you will be trained to instruct a vast majority of our activity sessions. There is also the prospect to obtain official qualifications in Archery, Fencing, High Ropes, First Aid & Safeguarding.
At Ford Castle the working week is five days on 2 days off compromising of 40 hours per week, at busy periods you will find you work higher hours and in the lower periods less, in the average of 40 hours over the course of your contract period.
The first 2 weeks of your employment will be a trail period, ample support is provided to staff to help them achieve the required standard. All residential staff are provided with full board accommodation, this includes breakfast, lunch and evening meal – even on your days off! A bedroom, staff social areas, laundry facilities and much more.
